The Knight of Cups is a youthful spirit, questing after matters of the soul and questions of the heart. This is the seeker of dreams, of visions, of the Holy Grail.
For this card we agreed that it would be ideal to shoot on a body of water- fortunately for us, the East Bay has quite a few little lakes and ponds, so we made grabbed a Sunday afternoon and headed down to Lake Chabot.
We rented two rowboats, and with me rowing one, and my valiant husband rowing the other, we made our way to the middle of the lake. There was a fair amount of clambering about so that I could get some different angles, but it worked out well. I know it made Stephanie a little nervous!
The only incident came when one of my oars broke in the middle of the lake; fortunately for me, though, I grew up canoeing and row-boating, and I also come from a long line of sturdy peasant ancestors, so I was able to get around pretty well with my one oar. I’m sure I looked ridiculous, but it was great fun.
It was a beautiful day, we had a great time, and the pictures turned out well. Clearly the lesson here is “get out more”. Full flickr set can be found here, and Steph’s run down is here. Don’t forget our actual site for this project is blackwidowhoney.com, where you can see all the cards and read our interpretations of them.
